The process to measure window blinds is dependent on the type of mount your windows have. You don't need to deduct your width or height measurements. Manufacturers take allowances and deductions into account.

Inside mount blinds:

  1. Window Frame Depth
  2. Window Width
  3. Window Height

Outside mount blinds:

  1. Width: Area you'd like the blinds to cover, include at least 1 1/2" on both sides
  2. Height: From the point your blinds will be hung, down to the window sill. Leave around 1 1/2" -2" of overlap on top account for your blinds' mounting hardware.
